So folks I am hoping someone on here can help me out. I have a Model 340 Series E in .222 Remington and I am attempting to discover the DOM. Best I can find is that there should be a date stamp on the barrel or receiver that will have a letter telling me what year it was manufactured. A should be 1949 and X 1970 With a few letters that are not used in between. I have thoroughly looked over the barrel and receiver and could only find the markings I have in the pictures. I hope someone could help me decipher what I am looking at.

That circle with the 5 in it is the date code but the other half of it is missing, you have the inspectors number but not the letter for the year. Have a look around on the receiver and see if you can find another one.

Based on the the limited information that is listed in the table in the leroy article my rifle was manufactured in 1983. I am not entirely sure how accurate that information is but hey its something.
