I have had great luck with BLC(2). It meters very well. H335 meters very well also.

For 55 v maxes I have hd good luck with H-335 and Varget, I have not tried BLC-2, but have heard lots of good reports on it.

In a stick powder I like H4895 and AA2015. I am now using TAC for most of my .223 loadings. It is cheaper that the competition by a couple of bucks per can, and it is temp insensitive and very clean. 335 is very dirty and heat sensitive.

I had good results with Varget 24.0-24.2 grains. That was at 100 yards.

You might also try AA2230. It flows like Bud Lite.

Thanks Guys for the help. I think with the choices you have given me I'll try some of the powders mentioned, and see what i come up with. At least I have a good starting point.

Try TAC, its cheap, clean, accurate and most importantly, you can find it when powder shortages hit.

If you have some IMR 4895 around I would give that a try. I used it when I first started loading 223 because I had an 8lb keg. I haven't tried anything else!

IMR 4895 works. Yesterday one of my test loads (25 grn + or -) with a 60 grn Horn HP printed a nice .301".

Benchmark for me. Meters in my LNL measure to within +/- .1 grain. Not temp sensitive, 3500 fps with 50 grain Blitz kings, doesn't burn dirty. I didn't find 8208 to shoot any better and it was slower so I'll stick with Benchmark.
I 'speed load' my high volume varmint ammo on a hornady LNL progressive and get 1/2 moa ammo with forster dies and lots of concentration.
