Just thought I would share some firsthand pics and impressions of the Savage 110 BA we got in to the shop today.

It is the 300 Win Mag
It is big. . . .real big
It looks like it would be a pleasure to shoot and would work reasonably well off a proper rest or bipod
The action looks long, although my understanding is that it is not extra long

The rails are not attached, but they are in the box. . .

Anyone shot one yet??

Heres the Pictures, and no it is not spoken for . . .

It looks SO much better without all them rails on top... Just a simple Farrell base would be fine.

Agreed P-dog. . . .I think it saves a couple pounds too :o

It certainly would be fun to take this puppy out to the range and stretch her legs. . . .but alas, hard to sell a 'new' gun with 250 rounds of playing through it ;) ;D

Although there probably are some guys that would still buy it as new, as I would have loads developed already, and 'proof' targets . . . . I'll talk to the boss!! ;)

Just curious what is the sticker price?

I am gonna say $1950-2100, but the boss will price it tomorrow Probably going to sticker $1999

Not bad, considering this is the first 300 110BA I have seen, none on GB even, a few 338's over the past weeks, but not a single 300 I can find.

I am still wondering why they didn't go 300 RUM. . . . ???

I'll look at them when the lefties come out.

Keep in mind the 'target' market... .300 RUM... isn't a standard LE/Military caliber. .300 WM has been for decades, good bad or otherwise.

Having shot the .338LM version... I would have to think the .300WM would be a ***** cat to shoot. A noisy critter, but a softy ;)

Profanity is not allowed on here! :D :D :D

Did no one get that I was kidding? I think it's funny as hell the words that get sensored. ;D

I like the fact that they made the 300 wm model with the large shank too. Just a personal preference but I like the large shank better even for standard belted magnums.

So your boss basically sells for MSRP. Or is it just for the new releases. Most dealers are going to be doing the same thing even if you deal with them all the time.
Maybe Savage is going to be like Harley either gouge or sit firm.

Actually, well under MSRP, actually on higher dollar guns, IE $1000+, our markup percentage is much less than on <$250 items, and no we never price gouge as you inferred, hell we still sell 380 ammo for $17/50 when we can get it. . .

MSRP is $2267. . . .. $1999 is less on my calculator ::)

If you think I was implying that your store Gouges I am sorry that was not my intent. When I looked at the Savage page I only looked at the 308 model BAT-BAS Which are $1907 & $2071 I never looked at the LA sorry.
My reference to the gouging is what happened when Harley's were not available and dealers were over pricing up to $3500 over msrp, and I think some dealers will do this with these particular rifles because they seem to be far and few between and they will get what ever they can for them, same goes for ammo and reloading components, some are still at $27-28 a 1000 for primers others are in the $40-50 range.

I'd wager it is because the U.S. Military has used the 300 Win. as their alternative long range caliber SWS for a long time. And, they have now decided to replace most of the 308s with the 300 Win. and adopt the 338 Lapua as their alternate long range SWS caliber. Savage is probably hoping to sell the new 110BAs to them, hence they would want to use the calibers that are already standard in inventory.

Thanks,
Emory Jones

Can you measure the diameter of the barrel at the muzzle? ( not the brake )
