New hunting partner

I took my 6 year old daughter out Saturday with me. Temp was 45* and sunny, so it was a beautiful day to be out. We sat in the blind for about 45 minutes when 5 doe and a small doe came across the field at about 150-160 yards. We looked at them for a couple of seconds and then I told her to plug her ears. I lined up on a big doe and followed her in the scope. Just as i was squeezing the last bit of trigger my elbow hit her elbow, she was leaning towards me and turning with the deer, causing me to pull my shot. I hit the doe in the hind quarters and she went down instantly. She got up and plowed alot of snow going the 100 yards to the woods. I finished her off with a shot to the shoulder and out the neck.

Very cool! I had middle 6 year old daughter with me this year too. Only saw does in a bucks only zone but she still had fun.

That is awesome I am taking my 9 y.o. son next weekend for his first trip with his own rifle. He has been plenty of times with me and just sat in the double with me for a hours in the evenings. This is his first hunt that is his and his alone to call. We hunt as much or as little as he wants. I would love nothing more then for a good size deaf and blind buck to step out about 50 yards for him (he gets just a little excited).

Awesome, I took my daughter hunting with me, 9 and 10 years old, she is 30 now, still loves to shoot. Great story and pic, gotta love them hog hunters!
