20MOA for 100 to 200 yards?

I think I may have purchased the wrong moa, I read online if I use a 20MOA at 100 to 200 yards I will not be able to sight the rifle in. Is this correct?
I do not intend on put it on my Savage 10P until I get answers from this forum.

I run a 20 MOA base and zero at 100 no issue. You have to have a scope that has enough adjustment range though. I've ran SWFA 10x42 MOA/MIL-dot, SWFA 12x42MIL/MIL and now a Vortex Razor 5-20x50 HD.

You will have no problem sighting it in or setting your zero at 100 yards, but if you don't plan to shoot long distance there is no reason for the 20MOA mount.

All my scopes sit on 20moa bases and all my rifles have a 100 zero.
The only possible problem would be if your scope had 25 moa or less of total adjustment and very few scopes are that limited.
Your vortex has plenty, No problem at all.

It depends on the rifle, as well as the scopes adjustment range. I run 20 moa bases on three of my rifles. Two with scopes with 75 moa total adjustment. One is zeroed at 100 but bottomed out(has 3 clicks left). The other is zeroed at two hundred because it ran out of adjustment.

It could be close. All things being equal with a 0 moa rail you would only have 28,5 moa. Put a 20 moa rail on and you would end up with 8.5 moa down. If things were off a little, and they always are, you may only end up with a few moa down and then add in a windage factor and you may not have enough. The scope is the limiting factor. If you already have everything then put it together and see. You should be better off zeroed at 200 with that scope.

Firstly, do you need a 20moa base? What cartridge and what distance are you shooting?

If so, try the scope to see if it works. If not, you will need a scope with more internal elevation.

You can always get Burris Signiture Rings and add the +10 insert in the front to effectively change your base to 10 MOA or add the +10 in the rear ring to increase your base to 30 MOA.

You need the custom or optional set of inserts too. The ones that come with the rings are zero offset.

My Burris 30 mm tube Signiture Zee rings came with 0 and + 10 inserts.
