I've been looking at some Weaver scopes for my 1935 300 Savage and I'm wondering at what point, or at what age is considered "vintage?" I've looked at many for sale and it's very difficult to find exactly how old or from what era the scope comes from.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Is there any way to date this Weaver K4 scope, made in Elpaso TX. There is nothing else engraved/marked on the scope. I purchased it at a local gun show and the seller (he had many scopes and was not just a small time seller) said that he believed it was from the mid 50's to the early 60's.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to look into the older redfiled scopes as well. I have an old 3-9 wide view accutrac on mine and it works great and looks good too.

I sent am email to the folks at Iron Sights Inc and they told me this is a 2nd generation weaver K4 circa 1954 or there abouts.
