I'm familiar with Dev-Con, Acraglass, etc. I'm just curious about a product called Lab - Metal. Anybody use it?

NOPE...unless its advertised adn reviewed as better than DEVCON, Stronger than DEVCON, less shrinkage than DEVCON, Harder than DEVCON, Easier to work than DEVCON, Cheaper than DEVCON or better in any other way than DEVCON I wouldn't use it...but thats just me...

I use marine tex which works quite well and I wont argue its better than devcon but it is an equal with some of the best smiths using it.I have never had a single problem with it shrinking or other wise.

It hardens from exposure to air.
Will the product harden under the action where no air circulates?

Good catch. I didn't see that.

Lab metal is for filling castings and such prior to powder coating. It is formulated to take the heat of 400 degrees of oven cure.
