Savage Model II?

I bought a take-off barrel off GunBroker for a Model 11 I'm tinkering with. The auction title and text referred to the barrel's former host as a "Model II", and a link in auction pointed to a Cabela's-specific model called the "Model 11 Prairie Dog". Just a typo, right? Well, Cabela's also seems confused by the model number, referring to it as both "11" and "II" on their sale page. To make matters more muddled, the barrel looks like this:

Did Savage just have a batch of botched barrels where the Arabic numerals in the model number (and seemingly only in the model number) were accidentally replaced by Roman numerals?

Would assume that it is a misprint, unless that was spec'd by the special order from Cabela's.
