Talley 2 piece mounts for 116

I just picked up a 116 and looking at these bases. I have a 4-12x40 scope so should I get low or medium hight and should I get the 1" extended or regular?

Depends on the length of the scope. I run the extended lows using a 3-9x40 Elite on my 116 and it just barely allows the scope to be back far enough.

For a long action I always, ALWAYS recommend going with a rail-type base due to most all scopes being shorter in length these days.
