I have been learning to shoot again, many years since I shot as child
growing up going to school, staring family, and now things are slowing down somewhat that I am able now to begin shooting again.
Last two years have began shooting more rifle
currently got 3 savages:
a: 243 axis
b: 308 model 10PC, my first 308 and just love this rifle
c: 308 McMillian stock 24 inch heavy barrel, glass bedded and have worked up loads loads now and have it dialed in pretty well, 43.4 gr varget , lapua brass, 168 gr sierra HPBT
shot my first match at 600 yards with this Mcmillian stock rifle and I am now hooked on long distance shooting.
going from 200 yards at range to 600 yards is an opener, but way cool
my next project is looking at getting either savage Model 12 F/TR or Palma version of the savage?
my dilemma is my little daughter who is now 11 year old started shooting with me, so iam wondering is it worth getting the model12 F/TR in 223 and teach her to shoot , less chance of her becoming recoil shy. she is mastering her first rifle quickly: savage mark II 22 LR.
what do members think?
thanks a lot for any advice
