As the title says, are any of the cut rifle barrel makers makin prefits these days. I called Rock Creek about my 300RUM I had on order, since March, and apparently they "lost my order" and now are not really doing prefits anymore. Nothing against button barrels, as that's all I've ever had, I just wanted to try a cut rifle barrel.

I ordered a Bartlein blank from Butch's Reloading and sent it to Jim at Apache to finish it up in .300 WM for my 116 action.
That's one way to skin that cat.

I think that is what I am going to do, how do you like the Bartlein?

Check sharp shooter supply for a threaded brux barrel

Wycoyote, let me know what you think once you get a chance to run a few down the pipe.

Been busy with hunting season but yesterday I squeezed a couple sub moa groups with 210gr Nosler LRABs and Berger 230gr OTMs. (3/4" and 7/8"). Two other combos not that good.
Still a "work" in progress. Showing some promise.

Sounds good, what powder are you using?

H1000 and Retumbo. I stay with the Hodgdon Extreme line to help eliminate variables due to temperature fluctuations. You sometimes use your heater and air conditioner the same day here.
Too bad you had bad luck with Rock Creek. I like the RC barrel that Russell D made in 6.5-.284 for me in c/o this site a while back.

Bartlein is at the top of the heap for competition barrels along with kreiger.
