I have a 300 win mag and I am considering a Muzzle break. I was wondering what this forum has for recommendations as to what muzzle break to purchase. I also herd that guides do not like hunters with muzzle breaks is this true?

not sure about guides not liking breaks as im not a hunter but i replaced the factory break on my 110ba with a JP enterprise recoil eliminator and am very happy with it...just make sure no one is off to the side when you pull the trigger.

I am seriously considering a Painkiller brake. Not cheap, but great reviews.

Get a harrels for 30.00 and save yourself the headache of timing it. If a gunsmith is doing it then a side discharge brake(gill type) works even better.

Harrels works really well.

Best muzzle brake I have ever had bar none! You can spend more but you definitely will not get more.

+1! He also have a link to his friend Ross. Both muzzle brake designs and price (and install) are hard to beat.

Another option is the clamp on type like ...

Good luck!

I have a few of these and they work great! well worth the money. I can shoot my 300 magnum and 300 rum all day without any discomfort. the people around you won't be pleased but I shoot out in the boonies and have no one around.
