Who is shooting one?

What loads are giving you the best results?

Right now I'm loading varget and Ramshot tac with 69gr and 55gr SMKs and can not get under an 1".

Wanting opinions from people who are shooting this rifle. Apologies for sounds rude.

I'm not familiar with your model. VT equals varmint/target??? Normally need a 1:9 twist to stabilize the 69 grainers. But the 55 grainers should stabilize fine with a 1:12 twist. Do you know your barrel twist rate? Have you tried various seating depths?

Im not sure... the l is left and v is varmint i think... it is 1-9 twist... havent tried different seating depth yet, but the results are between a 1/4-3/8 groups right now...

VT is a model special for Dick Sporting Goods. FLV is standard Savage product meaning F-synthetic stock, L-lefty, V-varmint barrel

Thanks JC! I finally found one by googling Savage 11 VT........B-stick, Sounds like you may need some help with load development procedures. Regardless of make or model there are certain adjustments necessary to yield best accuracy. Usually establish most accurate powder charge then best seating depth. Have you tried this yet?

I've tried different seating depths.

Right now I'm 0.010 off.

Going to try .005 and touching

Sounds like you're on the right path. The .223 Rems I've worked with usually dial in at .020" to .025" off the lands. Suggest you make up 6ea. at .015" .020" &.025" off the lands fire 3 shot group with each. Then use the 2nd three to verify the results, particularly if one of the lengths shows noticeable improvement. Distance from lands will always show larger improvements than powder charge changes. Keep us posted and hopefully we can walk you into a good load. :).............. I have a Mcgowen barreled Model 12, .223, single shot target action. It will not shoot the Sierra 69 gr SMK. Not saying yours won't. But sometimes changing bullet brands can make big difference.
