I just picked up a Vortex Viper pst 6-24x50 and need to pick up some scope caps. I like the butler creek eye piece covers, but I hate the objective covers. The slightest bump on them and they flip open. What do you guys use?

I've given up on individual caps. I've switched over to the neoprene/cloth scope covers.

If they (Butler Creek's) flip open real easy like that it usually means the cap's just a fudge too small for that scope. Basically the back side is being stretched to fit and it distorts the front just enough to keep it from staying closed as it should. I've had a few cases where I had to go to the next size up and then wrap a layer or two of black electrical tape around the scope to get it to fit snugly enough to stay where it belongs.

We used to make wide rubber bands from old tire tubes. wide on the ends and narrow in the middle made them stretch easier.

When I started using scopes we didn't know they made covers. We used Trojans they worked very well.

IMO, Leupold Alumina scope covers are the best. But only work with Leupold's. I don't personally like the look of Butler Creeks or the rubber lanyard. Like several have mentioned above, I have gone to the neoprene scope covers. Protects your scope when it gets bang the most; too and from the range or your favorite hunting spot.
