Your receiver is a long action, round front/flat rear.

The multi-slot base is definitely the best way to go. It will allow you use any of the scopes on the market without using extensions. Most scope nowadays have tubes that are fairly short.

So I decided to discard the scope, rings, and two-piece base in favor of a one-piece base from Warne and most likely a Burris Veracity 3-15x50mm.

I have the 4-20x50 on my .270 AI and they are awesome optics.

Note: You can see the bedding compound on the flat rear.

I normally use a two piece base set. I am left handed and most all one piece bases are opened up on the right for brass clearance on right hand actions. I also prefer a larger opening for the internal box magazines.

Yours seems like a twin to my 110 30-06 made on 1998, flat rear. My SN start with f408??? How close to that serial is yours?
