Hi,

New Savage owner and new member to this forum. Im a turkey and bird hunter and have never had much interest in deer, but my son has been wanting to go for some time. Picked up a Trophy Hunter 111 .270 today from Cabbalas and here we go. Got a scope question already but Ill post that in the appropriate place.

Wildlife Management Areas are the place to go if you do not have private land. Next year put in for the Lottery on specified areas and take your chance. It cost about $25.00, however if you do not get it you get a point for the following year. However, you must apply every year not to lose points. Your time will come. I scored my first buck that way.
Go to the SCDNR site and read. Better yet, talk to your buddies, friends, church members, everyone you can think of to get access to private land. Good Hunting.
