My sear, the little handle that releases the bolt on the bottom bolt release rifle broke. I'm not sure how it happened but went on the savage website and it says it's restricted to gunsmith's only. It's a really easy piece to remove and swap out. Anyone know where I can get one as I really don't want to take the whole rifle to a gunsmith for something that takes a minute to swap out? The savage number is 105741 for the part

If one is available, get a local gunsmith to order the part for you from Savage.

Not sure why it wouldn't be available as it's a new style rifle.

What Savage is getting at is, they don't want us common folk working on our rifles, for liability reasons, which is ironic since if it wasn't for us, they would not sell nearly as many rifles.

Call them and offer to e-mail a statement releasing them from any liability for its installation and use. They're weird about that stuff, but I've gotten them to send me ejection pins and other stuff they said was restricted to gunsmiths.

Brownells and midway carry them.
