Can someone show me a picture of Savage's controlled round feed bolt head? Were there differences in the receiver too, or is it just the bolt face?
Thanks,
Jeff

The receiver will have a standing ejector that extends into the bottom of the bolt face.
this link shows the bolt face clearly for a controlled round feed bolt face.

Yes, those are on the modern short magnums. I was wondering more about the very early models with the featherweight barrels, it looked like it had a C-clip in the bolt-face

What you're describing would be the 1959-1965 bolt assemblies which were push feed, not CRF. The only CRF Savage ever offered used the bolt heads referenced above as well as the previously mentioned standing ejector that came up through a slot machined into the bottom of the action.

1965 & earlier push feed on the left, 1966 and newer push feed on the right

Here's a shot of the newer CRF bolt head compared to the standard push feed.
