I have a 111 Long range hunter in 338 lapua and i want to change it to a 300 Rum. the locking lugs on my lapua are thicker than normal. can i get a magnum bolt face in the same thickness locking lugs? if so where ? i talked to pacific tool and the lady told me i was outta luck with them. will the ones off a 110Ba In 300 win mag work? can this even be done ? thanks for any help

IIWY, I'd sell it and get what you really want or if the goal is to transition from .338 to .308 caliber, I'd consider wildcatting it (esp. if you already have the brass) i.e., I got this from another site ...

I had a 30/338 LM Imp that had the shoulder pushed back .060" to give it a longer neck. With a 33" 1-10" twist PacNor 3 groove barrel it approached 3200fps launching the 240 SMK with 105grs of WC872. This was as high as I went before I sold the rifle to build something else, I believe it would have exceeded 3200fps as there was more room for approx. 3-5grs of powder. Water capacity was 116.1grs.

Just a thought .... good luck!

300 Norma would be the easiest conversion.
