Is there a difference between model 10 and model 11 actions. My budget will allow a Trophy Hunter XP but my heart wants the Precision Carbine. Would there be a noticeable difference to the average shooter regarding accuracy, smoothness of action, etc? I believe both have the DBM. Can I get an accustock for a gun that did not come with one? Are stocks different due to barrel thickness? I'm a NOOBIE to rifles.

I think with the Trophy Hunter XP you'll get the cheap axis-type mags.

There is no difference between the two in regards to the ACTION.

You can occasionally find used or take-off Accustocks for sale. They can be used with other barreled actions provided the action is the bottom bolt release style. You would also have to alter the recoil lug or get an accustock recoil lug. Changing the recoil lug requires an action wrench and lug wrench. The cost of these tools may prove more expensive than it is worth for a one-time swap. It may be worth taking it to a gunsmith in this case. Rifles with heavy barrels s.a. varmint or heavy sporter, etc. will require the barrel channel to be opened up along the forearm if the stock was designed for a sporter contour . It is easy enough to do. Simply wrap a wood dowel or deep socketfrom a socket wrench with a piece of sandpaper and start sanding. It takes some work, but it can be done in about 30 mins. The only difference is the size of the barrel channel.

The precision carbine also has a shorter, heavy barrel threaded for a muzzle brake. The Trophy Hunter series has lighter, sporter contour barrel without threads for muzzle brake.
