Okay, I found the online manual for the Savage edge.

It notes that some models come with bases. It of course doesn't say which models come with bases (it has a superscript so it should tie into some footnote but that part got left off) I assume bases ONLY come with the models packaged with the Tasco scope.

I'll pass on the Tasco scope. I'd rather have a $300 rifle with a $200 scope than a $450 rifle with a $50 scope.

Does anyone know if the bases can be ordered from Savage?

What are other base options? Can you tell if it appears that the holes are spaced the same as a Savage 11 or 110?

Savage of course has flat receivers and round receivers, I am guessing the Edge has a flat receiver? Maybe a two-piece set would give enough flexibility to allow mounting.

Any additional info would be great.

It seems that this is very reasonable info for Savage to put out whenever they put out a new rifle.

The Edge uses the same two piece base as a Savage round receiver. The Edge is round. The edge has an action the is in between the short and the long action Savage, therefore the one piece base will not work.

Weaver makes scope ring that will work for shorter scopes. it works on the stock bases and move the rings back about 1/2 inch. It worked on my nikon that was shorter then the bushnell banner that came with it

Bases come on the rifles which don't have the scope package (xp models have the scope package). Of course they come with bases, rings, and a cheaper Bushnell scope in the xp series.

EGW has 1 piece bases for the Edge/Axis, 0MOA (#41800) & 20MOA (#41802), they're great bases. See:

I think opticsplanet.net has them on sale for $29.90, make sure to match up the right part number.

One piece all the way, there's a member who stated the original two piece bases didn't line up correctly on his edge

I bought the XP in 308. I like the scope and mounts. It is the Bushnell. Keeps the zero well. What more do you want?
