Rutland Plywood, the primary manufacturer for laminated strand board used to make laminate gun stocks, burnt to the ground on August 21st. All employees have been laid off indefinitely, and sources are saying that the owner has no intention of rebuilding as he's getting up in age, has another business he runs, and with no one to take over when he's gone he's just going to pocket the insurance money and call it a done deal.
