That really stinks. You did a really great job on the stock. Do you have a link to where you bought the blank? How many hours did you have into the stock up to bedding?

Even though the stock was damaged in the end it was quite impressive what you did with it. Looking forward to ver 2.0.

As far as saving your flush cups, I would try heat first. Power sander would be my second choice. Let us know how well the epoxy comes off.

Oh man, I'm working on a wood stock for my deer rifle right now and can only imagine how frustrating that is. It was looking really good too. I love the bolt handle, might have to try and copy you on that. Definitely post version 2 if/when you get to it!

daniel87 you were probably asking the op but this is a really handy bedding article

I have a few questions about the stock blank that you received. Was it a true blank or was it partially finished. Such as action screw holes drilled, recoil lug area and barrel channel milled out or was it more of a true blank?

Semi finished...inlet, recoil lug and barrel channel cut for sporter barrel...I'd say 95%

Heat should work to remove the epoxy. Looking forward to seeing the next version.

Come on Mr. Beach, where's the new version? The practice was looking great and inspired me to get a couple of the Numrich semi-inlet walnut stocks in lefty. I will start those after Deer season ends.

Just ordered 2 stocks, thank you for the heads up. Now to borrow a vacuum pump and buy some wood stabilizer...
