Looks like I'll be picking up my 110BA .338 LM on Friday. Bought it on Gunbroker for $1800. Just plain got tired of waiting for the local dealers to get some action from their distributors.

As these rifles are starting to get out to the public, it would be good to have an organized thread to discuss loads. I'm personally not sure where to start. I've got 100 new Lapua cases, and 100 Berger 300gr Hybrids. The H1000 and the VV N570 are on the way, though I really don't know what kind of weights to load, nor OAL to the ogive. I'm thinking the Winchester LRM primers I have on hand ought to be good enough, but I'd surely like to hear what the community has to say.

I think this rifle is going to be amazing. With the input from the F/TR team, and the extra effort put into an already very accurate Savage rifle system, I think the only limits will be the loads and the shooter. I expect the rifle to outshoot my ability.

I've had a new Premier Reticles 5x25 56 scope in the closet since early February. Now to fine tune the loads, and find a 1000 yard range!

Any data on load work-ups, and accuracy results would be great to have.

Thanks for the help,

Chip

Anyone else take delivery of a 110 BA or have a range report to post?

No, still waiting for delivery. I ordered it at the end of February.

Finally set up. Just working up loads. Fired new Lapua brass, just to get fire formed cases for measuring my chamber and determining the leade fit this particular rifle. Thought I'd light loaded with 88 grains of N570 topped by 300 gr SMKs. Very, very, light recoil on bags. Chron'oed at 2726 fps. Pretty fast for 3+ gr less than recommended max. No pressure signs at all.

Pretty impressive rifle. No groups yet. Maybe later today if the wind dies down.

Just got a call from my local dealer. He's got a 110BA in .338. Would have been mine, but I've already found one. The price he's asking is excellent....around $1700, and yes, it's brand-new. Call Gary at 724-455-7282.

I received two of the Savage Model 110 BA in 338 Lapua. I have one available at this time - $1725.00 + S&H to your local FFL.

Jim, do you do layaway? That's considerably less than what I can get it for locally. If you'll do layaway ill take it. Shoot me an email at nradle@yahoo.com

Anyone got a range report on one of these? It would be nice to know how they compare to a Sako or Accuracy International.

Range report on Accuracy International L115A3 338 Lapua Magnum, 250 gr. Lapua LockBase B408 bullet. Two confirmed Taliban kills at 2707 Yards. 6.017 seconds flight time. 826 Ft/sec. velocity at impact. 3422 feet elevation above sea level. It took 9 spotters to get on target, according to Corporal of Horse Craig Harrison, Household Cavalry of the British Armed forces. Date established: November 2009.
I am quite confident that the top shooters on this forum could better that world record with the Savage 110 BA 338 Lapua Magnum, and do it with less than 9 spotters. Savage does real good in F class, It is time for Savage to raise the bar again.
