Confused on WSM conversion

Can a Stevens 7-08 be converted to a WSM repeater, is there anyone here that has done one?

I did some seaching here and on the web, and have found conflicting information, I have seen posts that state you just need to change the bolt head, I have seen posts that state you need to have a wsm bolt head machined first, and also receiver machine work done.

Is there anyone here that has completed a conversion, and could share how they did it? Or should I just throw in the towel and buy a WSM action?

The neat thing about Savages are that all the parts are available and readily interchangeable.

You will have to get a different magazine or bend the mag lips to accept the larger case though. Others here that shoot repreaters will help you with that detail.

You will need a Mag bolthead and a new or different firing pin assemble. Just call Lisa @ Sharp Shooters Supply and tell her what you are doing and you will get what you need for the conversion without having to give it another thought.
