Just acquired a Striker in 308 and was wondering what some pet loads are for others that have one. I know every gun is different but looking for a good starting point. I was thinking 150 Ballistic Tip with 4064/Varget. 14" barrel with brake. Should be an experience!

Sounds like a good starting place to me. 150's and Varget are a favorite in my 308 rifle.

You will find that generally what works good as a rifle load, often works well in the Striker. Something to try if recoil is or becomes an issue for you is try loading with H4895. It can be safely loaded down quite a ways to help with snappy recoil.

I think you will like the Strikers, I have one that I barreled in 444 Marlin and am running a 300gr XTP with a full case of RL7, even with a brake on it its a handful.

Have fun.

If there are no pictures then it didn't happen!

Nice one. Come out west and let's stretch it out some.

Not sure why this got moved?? There are other similar topics in this category that are still there. I would love to go out west, mainly for an elk. Not sure I'd use this though.

Note the new concrete bench tops.

Yeah I saw them. Paul and I were talking about possibly replacing the wood tops with concrete at Milton Grove. Are the concrete blocks(legs?) the same as when we built them? We pretty much followed the same design at MG except for the fixed benches.

I'll have to take a drive over and take a closer peek at'm.

Hodgdon has loads for rifle cartridges in handguns listed in the pistol section of their load books.
