So I was at the range today and a gentleman showed me a small target that resembled a lollipop - the 'head' was between 1-2" in diameter and it was atop a stick that you would shove into the ground. I didn't see him shoot any since our range only allows paper targets in the stand (lame), and I forgot to follow up with him before I left. They looked like they would break apart sort of like a clay when shot. Any of you guys seen anything like this? It looked like it'd be fun. He was talking up his Ruger Gunsite Scout 308 and claimed he was shooting them at 300yrds the last time he had it out. It reminded me of these except one-time use: http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Daisy-ShatterBlast-Clay-Targets-w/-Stakes&i=776258

Not surprising. I shoot clays at 545yds without issue with my 308. Good time, sometimes you get lucky and only half of it breaks off and you get a second shot.

There are lots of clay pigeon holders out there. Here's a way to make it yourself:
