I am starting to theorize my 'next' Savage build and I am contemplating a 338 Edge. I am trying to decide the best action to start with assuming I want to magazine feed and I want to seat 300gr bullets out pretty long.
So.... does anyone know what the max OAL the 111 Long Range Hunter (Lapua Mag 19482) can magazine feed?
Thanks.

I'm not sure on the OAL of the Lapua action. But if memory serves me right, you should be able to use a Ultra Mag action, the 7MM, 300, 338, of the 375 actions would work.
The 338 Edge is based on a 7MM Ultra Mag case.

Not sure if the mags are identicle to the 110BA model or not, but the internal dimension on the BA is 3.875". I currently run my 338LM rounds at about 3.710 and have lots of room to spare.

Thanks. I have read that the Savage ultra mag actions/magazines are not long enough to seat 338 Edge 300 gr bullets out 'far enough'.

They 'look' the same, but I would prefer confirmation before plunking down a grand for a donor rifle/action. :)
