becasue it should be illegal for a 53 gr bullet out of a hunting rifle to shoot 5 shots sub MOA at 759 yards

That is excellent! I'm trying to get something close to that but in an AR platform with heavier bullets. Not going so well I might add.

Chuck the 53 gr vmax has a BC almost the same as a 69 smk! And you can push them 300 fps faster, the BC is pretty close to true as well

I'll have to look into those. My AR is a Windham VEX with a 1:8 20" barrel so I'm really trying to work up 2 loads, one in a light bullet and one in a heavy bullet, 75 to 80 gr. Once again thats impressive shooting you got there!

Thanks Chuck! i was just shooting off a bipod and a wadded up jacket at the back, cant wait to see how it does off a bench!
only took 11.5 moa to get to 759

My BHW 20" 22x6.8 is almost there. A little more load refinement and I'm ready to push it out another 400 yards and see what happens. I'm within 150fps of 22/250 velocities with it now, I have a couple more powders to try.

what velocities are you getting?? that sounds like a fun caliber!
i was up to about 3750 but started getting a sticky bolt so i backed it down to 3600 fps, but not complaining for a 20" barrel ;)

I'm getting about 3465fps with a 55 Nosler over 29.2gr of Hodgdon H-4895. I think I can gain another 100 or so by using AA2200. The polygonal rifling in the BHW barrels is FAST!!!

Hotolds, that also sounds interesting. How long have you been working with that?

About 2 months. Most of that was spent waiting for a set of Redding bushing dies to be in stock. Once I had the brass resized, I fireformed the brass and started working up loads for it. If I could find some H-322 I'd be using the loads the guys on the BHW site are getting 3545fps under the 55 Nosler. That's as close to the 22/250 in an AR-15 platform that you're gonna get I think without going to the 224SAUM.

Luke, did you put yours together or is it factory? What twist?

I put it together, got a McGowan 22-250ai 20" 1/12 twist , the new short handi coyote slayer!

And the load isn't anything fancy, using h4895 as well, probly to fast burning for the capacity but it's what I had on hand and it shoots! It put 5 in 1" at 300 yards 2 weekends before. Not bad for a gun I have a whopping 490$ Into. got McGowan barrel on sale as a leftover for 220$)

Wow, nice! Do you think this would be worth a shot through an 18" 1:8 AR? I've pretty much stuck to 77gr SMKs with this rifle and get easy 1MOA groups @100yrds, but haven't branched out yet.

Oh yes definitly, they are only like 16.99 a box so you may as well try!!
