110 Model Identification Tip

I have seen several posts new and old where guys are looking to identify their rifles sub-model. Well here is a quick and easy way to do it without having to pick up the phone. Simply input your serial number, the parts finder will identify your specific model and DOM. Enjoy.

I kind of get a kick out of how overly concerned some are with exactly what sub-model rifle they have. Unless it's something unique and obscure (meaning a low production model with a specific stock style like a 110S) I really don't see what it matters. The parts used are the same from one sub-model to another, so the only thing it's going to maybe tell you is what type of stock it had on it from the factory - wood or synthetic. Barrels are always stamped with the model number, be it 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 110, 111, 112, 114, or 116 so that alone will narrow it down a bit.

10/11/110 and 111 models all came with either wood or synthetic stocks (excluding select FP models with aftermarket stocks)
12/112 models all came with either synthetic or laminate stocks and are the only ones to ever come from the factory with laminate stocks (excluding special order runs)
14/114 models all came with a walnut stock
16/116 models all came with synthetic stocks

Also, if the serial number puts it before the early 1990's and it's not a Model 112 it's guaranteed to have come from the factory with a sporter weight barrel.
