After a lot of reading, I decided to go ahead and order a 338 EDGE barrel from Shilen (they will not chamber a small shank in 338 Lapua). Have the dies, coming so now I need brass. Do you fire form 300 RUM brass using the COW method, then check/trim length. Does anyone have a powder charge they recommend for fire forming?
You don't need to fireform anything. The shoulder location and angle are the same as the 300RUM. Just neck size then normal brass prep.
What are you getting for dies? I use Lee 338RUM for neck sizing, shoulder bumping and bullet seating. I also use a gutted 375RUM FL die for body sizing but it doesn't touch the neck.
