There is some VERY GOOD information on this site and I appreciate all your efforts to make it so. I purchased a Savage lever action a few days ago and have been unable to type it thru my internet searches. The articles in the history section helped some but I wasn't able to find a good match.
The rifle ser # is 223946 which gave me a 1920 manufacture date on another website. It has a 20" heavy-ish barrel (which I assume makes it a carbine). The muzzle OD it just over 0.700". It has a blade front sight with bead on top captured in a dovetail. The forearm has a small schnable and parallel finger grooves on each side. The rear sight has been removed (blank installed) and a Redfield aperture (looks like a mdl 70LH) rear sight installed. The stock is straight (no pistol grip) and buttplate has a slight curve to it (i.e. not flat, definitely not crescent). It is a take-down model in 303 Savage.
Thanks for any help.
