This rifle has been posted before, It is a Savage FLCP-K in .223, sitting on a Bell-Carlson stock, it has not been bedded, action has been timed and trued by Fred, along with fluting the bolt, it also has a Sharp Shooter Competition Trigger, Glades Armory bolt handle, Weaver Base and Rings, Sightron SIII 8-32 Scope. The Barrel on this rifle is the STOCK Savage factory barrel, with the break removed. She shot a 399 out of 400 to win the match. Below is her 200 and 300 yard targets.

Congratulations to you and her! Great to be able to share that experience with your wife. Obviously she can shoot too!

Too cool! Part of me wishes my wife would want to get into some competitive shooting......Then the sane part of me remembers how much ammo she already goes through. Of course I don't have any type of competitive rig nor the skill set to use one.

Precision shooting, and the bolt handle is on the correct side, too. But that hat has to go lol.
Nice job, like mentioned above I wish mine had a competitive nature like that.

Congrats! Does the timing and truing of the action affect accuracy or just make it smoother to operate?

Hey yeah ,congratulations. It makes me wish that I could shoot like a girl.......:hail: How does she like the Sinclair bipod ? It looks like wrought iron instead of aluminum. I need a bipod like that, not that I'll ever be able to shoot that well.

Could not tell you if it improved the accuracy or how much, I know it didnt hurt it any.But it did make it a 100% more pleasent to shoot for her, the bolt lift was very stiff , the action is smooth as silk now and you can operate the bolt with one finger with ease. we also installed a single shot block in the blind mag, that also made things alot easier, just drop a round in and close the bolt, dont have to look in the action or fumble with a clip. By doing these things it made the rifle very "comfortable" to shoot, and being at ease with your equipment goes along way in shooting better scores, she will tell you it did for her.

She loves the Sinclair bi-pod, steady as a rock.

Outstanding shooting! What bullet and powder are you running?

Berger 70g Match VLD Target and Varget Powder. Case neck sized to where it barely holds the bullet, CCI 400 Primers, bullet just kissing the lands, wont tell powder amount, I think folks need to work up thier own on this, for safety reasons, but will say it is below Max Load in all the loading manuals. Use sevaeral differnet brass makes from Laupa, Remington, Winchester and prepped LC all the brass performed about equal.

Not to knock the marketing of the Sinclair Band, but an aluminum window blind will do the same and some here might have one just laying around. Just an idea for all.

Excellent shooting. I showed my wife and told her she could do that! I just bought an FLCP-K in 223 but I think she will still favor the AR15 :(
