Anyone using one of these to replace their accutrigger? Are they as good as the Timney for a non accutrigger savage 110?
Also I can't figure out on timneys website what the difference is between the 638 and 638-16 (besides the $10 price difference). They both fit top bolt release savages with accutrigger, so is it nickel plated or something?

Haha.. don't know what the difference is but I sure felt the difference when it was installed on my Varmint Rifle.

No Creep.... Crisp 2-1/2 lb let off.... Groups improved. I had an issue with my particular trigger not liking my crooked technique. This solved it nicely.

That's great! Thanks for the report. So it sounds like you would call it a "significant" upgrade from the accutrigger then?

Depends on how much you like your Accu... It's not significant unless yours is a problem or you don't like it.

They can be made to break nice... I just preferred the feel of the Timney after the issues I had with my Accu.... Heck, get it you wont be sorry and you can put the Accu back in when / if you ever sell the rifle....

Ya that's a good plan, I think that's what I'm gonna do. It's not that the accutrigger is bad, it's actually pretty nice for a factory trigger. it's just that's this is my only rifle with an accutrigger, and it's different and therefore a little awkward for me.
Thanks for the info/advice

I put one in my VLP 223 and love it. 1.6lbs and going to take it down some more.
