Does anyone know the correct torque specifications for the guard screws on a Striker? Thanks.

I have not found anything specifically for the Striker. However, the Savage Knowledge Base lists the following Factory Recommended torque settings for rifle guard screws: Centerfire wood and plastic stocks 30-35 inch lbs. BAS/K 40 in. lbs.; Accustock 40 in. lbs., including wedge screw.

I make mine as tight as I can. Never worried about it.

That was the way I did it for years, but I thought if I knew the correct torque setting, I could be consistent tightening the guard screws. Besides, I had to have some justification for the 1/4" Torque Wrench that I bought from Harbor Freight!

Right on. I always look at those wrenches, but just have never pulled the trigger on one yet. If I had one I probably would not strip out so many bolts and screws.

You can buy a 1/4" torque wrench from Harbor Freight for $9.99 when they are on sale. That is what I use to torque the guard screws on my Strikers to 35 inch pounds.
