I have a Savage 11/111 Trophy Hunter XP in 30-06. I'm wondering what is the best way to break it down an clean it, especially what parts really need to be cleaned well. Also, how do you clean yours, bore snake, gun scrubber, just rem oil etc. ? Any info is appreciated.

This is how I clean my rifle. Not saying its right or wrong, just how I do it.
Remove the bolt from the action. Run a patch soaked in Hoppe's #9 from breech to muzzle. Then run a dry patch from breech to muzzle. Repeat until the dy patch comes out clean. Then run a patch with a bit of gun oil down the bore.
Clean the face of the bolt with a solvent soaked patch and dry.
Apply a light coat of oil to bolt body and locking lugs.

The once or twice a year, depending on how much I've shot, remove the stock and clean the trigger group with clp or a butane spray.

Should be plenty of videos on youtube that can walk you through the process.
Good luck.
