Hello guys.

I will keep it short. I am going to buy one of these two scopes for my Savage 12 FTR .308.

Sightron 10-50x60 SIII Long Range Riflescope, Matte Black Finish with 1/8 MOA Mil-Dot Reticle, 30mm Tube, Side Parallax Adjust = 1050$
OR

Sightron 8-32x56 SIII Long Range Tactical Riflescope, Matte Black Finish with MOA-2 Reticle, Target Turrets, Side Parallax Adjust, 30mm Tube = 950$
For the price, do you think the 10-50X 60 is a better choice for shooting out to 1000yards (PS, most of my shooting will be under 500 yards until I get better)? Or will the second option work just fine at 100$ cheaper. The reticles are different, yes; however they are both MOA and should suit me just fine. Also, and the MOA adjustment is different as well (I would prefer the 1/8 MOA adjustment...but is it worth that extra 100). Lets throw those in the backseat for the minute and just focus on whether that amount of magnification and extra 4mm objective increase is necessary?

Id like to be able to see my target hits without using a spotting scope in necessary, so will either of these two do it???

Aggghhhh! CANT DECIDE! Need help!!!! lol.

What would you buy!

Based on personal experience i would go with the 8-32. Mirage is a killer here in the south and i was never able to use the full power.

I would do the 8-32 myself..........greater range of vertical adjustment, large enough objective without needing skyscraper rings etc, etc. But that's allot of personal preference behind that desision.

First time I've seen Big Supply Shop. Have you bought from them before? Looks like some really good prices, compared to Optics Planet, for instance.

Yep. I'm going to get this one...the 8-32X56

50x magnification with just 4mm more objective size seems impractical. I would tend to think the image brightness and quality at that mag would be pretty poor.

I'm still going to need the high zee rings though. I think medium will just barely clear. It's a bit hard when even the guy at Sightron said he didn't know.....

I got a friend that uses the -50X model in F-Class mid-range (600 yards).
I doubt if he can see his hits but I think it's a pretty good scope.
