bolt assembly screw

How much torque on a bolt assembly screw? While trying to diagnose erratic performance, I found my assembly screw to be loose. I snugged it down tight but is there a specific value(Inch -pounds). I hope this explains some of the erratic targets I have been getting. Thanks in advance.

tight enough it don't come loose is how i do mine. Do you have the old slotted or the allen headed one? I had a bugger of a time with the slotted one keeping it tight.

Don't have a torque value but hand tight with standard short allen wrench. hand tight is how tight i can get it without a cheater of any type so it will vary day to day and person to person.

Had same issue with hex bolt on my 12VLP in 308 when new. Made adjustments at the range about four times using a torque wrench. Finally backed it off to loose then hand tight with an L shaped wrench, had the problem one more time, hand tightened it a bit harder and 1000 rounds later no problems.

Again this was from new so I kinda figured it was a combination of hitting the right torque and breaking in a new bolt?
