Thanks! I've shot exactly 32 rounds. All from this same box of Steel Match. The target was the last 12.

From what I have read around here is the Savage .308's seem to like the 175gr rounds the best. I have just finished a .308 build myself and have not shot it yet, I hope mine groups that good to begain with.

I was real surprised actually. I bought these steel cased rounds back in 2013 during ammo crunch because of availability. I figured it was time to try them. I'm not real concerned with one hole groups as my hunting with this rifle will not exceed 250 yds.

Gotcha, I think those round will take down anything at that distance for sure. Happy hunting

That's a sick lookin stick, If you can deal with the heavy barrel on a hunting rifle in the field you're gonna be all right.

This set up unloaded weighs in at 8.5lbs without the suppressor. With the can added it will get over 10lbs for sure. Not a problem though.

Great looking stick, and you are right, Apache (http://www.apachegunworks.com) built barrels are the best.

Boots, I like the link. Anyone looking for a barrel should seriously consider Jim.
Also I see your updated calibers, tell me more about the 444 Striker!

In the interest of not hi-jacking this thread here is a link to a thread about my striker (sort of).

http://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?35987-444-Marlin-or-460-S-amp-W-Which-and-Why

I will be starting another thread with pics and such in the proper section, and I will put up a link to that thread when I get that far.
