View Full Version : Savage 111 in 7mm Mag ejection issue?

Hi gang i got me a used savage 111 in 7mm rem mag the other day from a feller being deployed. it in good shape and looks to be well maintained but when i cycle a round through the gun the shell just sort of falls out of the chamber and to the ground when extracting/ejecting. My 111 in 30-06 that i got new a few years ago will actually throw the shells away from me and the rifle when i extract/eject. Any suggestion as to what might be the issue or what i need to do in order to improve the ejection on my new(used) 7mm rem mag?

You can try removing the ejector and extractor and cleaning them out. Often they get gunk build up that slows the ejector down. You may also look into getting an Extractor/Ejector Kit from SSS. Their kits use modified parts to greatly improve ejection and have stronger extraction.
