Africa in 2011

I saw a post on here re: the cost of an Africa trip. Me and 3 guys are about a month away and we won the trip at an NRA/sportsman federation auction..20k trip for 4 got for 3k total. The big costs are the flight and trophy fees, but it's worth the 3k just to chase some plains and or dangerous game around. Support the NRA and these auctions...it could be your lucky day..

Do not want to forget the taxidermist! That can add up in a hurry also.

Taxidermists can exceed all the other costs of the safari.

Take time to really learn how to use your digital camera outdoors before you go. Learn how to make good pictures and to "frame" the animal and scene. Your pictures loaded on your computer and smart phone will be shared with many more people than your taxidermist trophies will be.

Take two identical cameras, lots of memory cards, and, of course, batteries. You may or may not be able to recharge batteries in camp.
