I bought a model 10 from Armslist, I got it from my local FFL today. It was listed as a 10 FP-SR, but I dont think that is what it is. It has the bottom bolt release, with 4 rnd DBM. It also has the acustock, and a threaded 20 inch barrel, and the tacticle bolt knob.

New to the forum and I tried to lookup parts too and found out that they are closed till end of July. Weird that you can't search the part list while they are on vacation.

try this and see if you can identify your gun: http://www.preciseshooter.com/blog/IntroToSavage10.aspx

other Linky no worky either.
The precision carbines I have seen come with a digital camo stock without a beavertail fore end which this one has.
From the little I can see it looks like a 10 FP or possibly a 10 TR.
Does it have a detachable box and a fairly long bolt handle instead of a knob?

I re read your post and I'm pretty sure you have a 10 TR. It was an uncatalogued model and all kinds of rumors about it's existence swirled about it.
most sensible thing I've heard is that it was a distributor exclusive.
Great rifles. I couldn't pass up the deal when I bought mine for $450 while they were somewhat available.
More features and several hondos less than what my 10PC cost me. The EGW scope rail included was an additional bonus. Mine however came with a thread protector and no brake.
It's the most feature laden factory "tactical" style rifle I've seen and nothing else touches it at the price point and most wont touch it at twice as much or more.
I have been very pleased with all of my LE series Savage rifles. The 10 TR was a hummer right out of the box.

The initial precise shooter link above though it mentions the TR doesn't show a pic of one. The link provided with the TR description may be a good read for you.http://www.preciseshooter.com/blog/Savage10TR.aspx
I will say with 168Gr federal gold medal match mine shot between .5 and .75 inch 5 shot groups. I haven't tried 175s or much load development yet. Too many toys too little time.

Here's a pic of one I snagged online, Note the bolt handle.

That is it, and the rifle I have been looking for. I bought it knowing that it most likely wasn't what the guy said it was, I was hoping it was a 10TR. I was actually on a waiting list for one and gave up, guess it worked out in the end.

She paid for it with her money, it was SUPPOSED to be a gift for her husband, but he got into drugs, they got divorced, and it's been setting in the closet for like 4 or 5 years, unfired. She never gave it to him. She gave me all her guns except 1 (S&W 626 in .357 mag.) She paid for all of them.

The more I learn about this rifle, the more I like it. My 16yr old gun nut daughter has been helping me with getting it together with a good scope, MB, and tri-pod.
I gave it to her.... Lots of Daddy points there! :) When she has kids, I hope she will pass it down.

Just FYI If you just bought it new there is a $100 rebate currently available on that scope. Google Burris rebate for the coupon. I have a couple of the older ones in the same power range and like em a lot. Not sure how well the ballistic plex reticle matches up to .308 cartridge but it's perfect for 22-250 and .300RUM. out to 600
