Hello to all.

Previously I owned a Model 40 .22 hornet, which while it shot great V-max's and H110, it had a few "glitches", that I fixed, but later sold the rifle.

I now have a Model 25 .22 Hornet Walking Varmiter ordered. Just like to know what the over-all cartridge length that will still fit into the magazine? I realize OAL for the Hornet is 1.723", just wondering what the Savage magazine will accept in the Model 25 rifle.

I sure hope this Savage Model 25 has all the bugs worked out, as I read on this forum some are having problems with the Model 25.

My model 25 is 223. Your hornets should fit no problem. They all use the same magazine, Savage just adds a spacer in the back for 17 cal.

It took about 3 weeks to get my model 25. Well worth the weight.

The hornet uses a different mag from the 223. 1.748-1.750 is as long as the magazine will hold unless you modify it. You have to seat all the plastic tip 40 gr bullets too deep. The 40gr and 34 gr FBHP's(nosler) work well. The 35 gr Hornady v-max is great if hornady would run them again
