I have a savage 111 in 7mm Rem Mag
All was going fine until about the 7th shot when I couldn't keep the rounds in a 8" circle.

I tried different ammo which didn't help.

I sent the scope back to Leupold and it checked out fine.

I sent the rifle back to Savage and it shot .6 MOA.

I was using Ken Farrel mounts tightened to specs with a torque wrench.

I thought the front screw on the scope mount was too long but its not..I double checked it today.

Any suggestions on what may have caused this irratic shooting ?

Is that the skinny barrel? I'm thinking heat maybe. Did Savage fire more than three rounds in there test?

Its a midweight fluted barrel....I waited until the barrel was as cool as the bolt while shooting...

M not sure how many rounds Savage fired.

It sounds to me like a mount came loose, but there are far too many variables and unknowns for me to guess at.

Has it done this since you got it back from Savage?...............caution, possible stupid question.
