New member with savage 110 scope question.

Delighted to have found this site.
I have a Savage 110 rifle and was looking for info and found you guys.
Very helpful info indeed.
My Savage 110 is a Chicopee falls model, 30-06 caliber, metal butt plate and has a 4 digit serial #. The rifle is in mint original condition.
It currently has a 2 piece scope base with weaver type rings. Should I look for different setup for mounting a scope or are these ok in your experience.

Thank you in advance savage shooters!
Philip

The 2 piece base limits the position of the scope. If you need to move the scope to the rear you will need a pair of offset rings or a one piece scope base. On the other hand if you do not need to move the scope closer to your eye, the two piece base will work fine for hunting and such.

The Savage 402 extended front base will give the needed movement.

If your scope sits where you want it to when mounted on those bases they will work just fine.

Burris two piece Tactical mounts, midway carries them. They are made of steel, and they are available for round or flat back receivers. I use the rings listed below and love them.
