Can someone explain Rachet Rifleing and tell me what the advantage is with it? Are those that have it satisfied with it and for what is it best used for Target and so forth ?

Thank you Gordon

Ratchet twist is basically the lands are canted. There is a lot of myths to this type of barrels. Some say that this stuff leaves a smaller mark on the bullet, and it is less affected by the wind. Other myths are; the barrels is easier to clean, they produce less heat, they produce more speed, and they last longer.

I have one and I love it. Is it any better than a standard barrel, they jury is still out on that one. There has been a few records set, and many match's won with them.

I had one from Shilen. I did not like it. Which means nothing. Others love em.

Nothing new under the sun - take a look inside the barrel of a Trapdoor Springfield. Works great in them!!!
