Got my 111 torn down today, used the wrenches I ordered from NSS and popped it a couple times with the hammer and the nut broke right loose. Barrel removal shouldnt be that easy! No wonder the gunsmiths dont like savage DIYers :-) This was my first time breaking one down and I was pretty stoked about. All the info i got here made it seem easy. While I had it apart I went ahead and put my Rifle Basix trigger in, it feels pretty good, but I'll fine tune it once I get it all back together. Still need to order my stock and brass, but thats not a big deal. Hopefully my 280AI barrel will be in soon. Jim told me about 16 weeks and next week will be just that.
