how many turns

How many treads, turns, on an action screw do you need to hold the action properly. I got the Long screws from SSS (which were the same as the screws that came out of the Stevens) & I have 3 1/2 turns on the rear action screw & 4 on the front. Will this be enough in a stocky's thumb hole lame for a Stevens action. Putting a 250/300 AI barrel on it

As long as they are snug I think you'll be okay. I'd check on them though to make sure they don't back out.
