My 308 is almost at 2500rounds down range on its second stock barrel and coming up on 14 or 15 years of service. I have made hits at 800 on the body target but throw in wind that goes on and off and either I cant adjust for it or the barrels accuracy is just not there. I am getting ready to swap out the barrel next year and upgrade my scope also its as old as the rifle. Or I might just sell it. The 338 reloading components are very costly not sure I can afford to dump money on both. Im not sure what a savage axis is but im going to google that model tomorrow morning. Thats good range for a stock rifle. Do you have any pics posted up or pm me a pic.
