I see that Jim has a 6.5 GAP 4S (George's take on 6.5 SAUM) reamer enroute.

Since this might be relevant to others' interests here, I figured I'd ask publicly:

What are the reamer specs? Are they George's .296 neck .081 freebore, or the no-turn .298 neck .081 freebore?

I went with the .298 version since most do not want to turn necks. Should be here by next week. I will also be getting the .296 version for myself.....doesn't bother me to turn necks. ;)

I just wish that the SAUM brass was easier to find! I have a 6.5x47 Lapua barrel that would make a great donor for this!

The guys at GAP run this round around the same pressures as the 308 and have barrels up over 4000rds with only one set back before accuracy and velocity started to fall off. Long article on the hide about the GAP Extreme Hunter when they introduced this round.

The reamer is in now.....I also have a few 6.5 SS blanks ready too.

When bullets.com first opened I bought 500 cases of Norma SAUM brass. Everyone wants to buy it from me but I have plans for it all. 7mm SAUM F-Class barrel....6.5 GAP 4S F-Class barrel....and some of it for my 6mm SAUM hunting rifle.

When you do find some......buy enough to last the life of a barrel. Don't have to worry about running out that way.

Just peeked on bullets.com.....they have it in batches of 2000 cases right now ...300 SAUM....maybe several of you could get together and buy what you need then split it up before it's all sold out....they also have it boxes of 25 I see.....

Awesome. Looks like I might be giving Apache Gun Works a call in the future for a 6.5 SAUM. I too purchased a few hundred Norma brass for my 7SAUM. Now to find a 6.5 barrel in heavy sporter.I could also turn my 260 rem into a 6.5 SAUM??? So many choices..lol Thanks Jim for the info.
